Cave tubing and zip lining
“La Isla Bonita” San Pedro has easy access to Belize City by air (via Tropicair or Maya Island Air) or by sea (via The San Pedro Belize Express or Ocean Ferry Belize). Our guides will meet you when you arrive in Belize City, where we will then head west towards Jaguar Paw via an air-conditioned drive.
After meeting your tour guides, who will supply inflatable tubes, headlamps, and life vests, they will brief you on safety and orientation.
Next up is a 30-minute hike that includes:
- Walking through calming water streams.
- Visiting dense rainforests on flat terrain; and
- Experiencing the exotic plants and animals living in the area
Upon entering the cave tubing system, you will embark on an exciting journey through the mysterious Maya underworld. At the heart of ancient history, you will find the crystalline stalagmites and stalactites that line the cave of Xibalba. You will experience the sights, sounds, and even smells of the indigenous Maya as you make your way through the darkness. (If you want more adventure, ask your guide about a visit to the mini waterfall and swimming area at the end.)
Once you leave the falls, you will emerge into the sunlight and free float gently downstream to where the tour began.
You can also zip through Belize’s jungles at high speeds while getting a bird’s eye view of the jungles. It’s then a short walk to the gear area, where our guides will help you select the right gear. Next, you’ll receive an introductory safety briefing on the first platform covering braking technique, cable safety, and balancing.
