The cave tubing Xunantunich and Zipline tour will begin with a road trip in air-conditioned transport to Xunantunich. Visitors to Xunantunich enjoy a sense of time travel. This is one of Belize’s most important tourist sites. The hand-cranked ferry that has carried thousands of people to and from this temple is frequently lined with vendors selling local souvenirs, hammocks, and blankets.
From ‘El Castillo’, you can see amazing views of the Cayo District and nearby Guatemala. Experience another world and experience simplicity for a few hours before heading to Jaguar Paw for cave tubing and zip line.
The tour guides at the outpost will provide you with inflatable tubes, headlamps, and life vests upon arrival. Next, you will receive a basic orientation and safety briefing before heading out on a 30-minute hike that includes wading through a few shallow rivers.
At the cave system’s entrance, you’ll begin your ancient Maya underworld adventure cave is lined with crystal formations that rise and fall, giving a beautiful view. You would be amazed by the amount of tranquil serenity they provide to Xibalba. Then, you will emerge into the sunlight and free-float downstream, being ushered along by the gentle current and the sounds of the birds. You will then return to the starting point.
We’ll still have more to do, as you’ll drop off your tubes and walk over to the zip lining equipment area, where our guides will help outfit you with the necessary gear. Once you reach the first platform, you will receive a safety briefing covering cable safety, brake technique, and balance.
Come on, let’s go! START! Let’s do it! You will zip along the aerial cable at canopy level until you reach the next platform, where your guide will await you. A couple of platforms into your Indiana Jones adventure, you’ll see the “hammock bridge” hanging almost 120 feet above the forest floor. Next, take in the tangled heart of Belize’s spellbinding and lush ancient forest as the vast clearing of trees fades into a stunning expanse of blue. After this, the lines get faster and longer. This thrilling experience will add memorable photos to your album and is a must-do when visiting Belize. There’s a total of 7 lines, and the whole adventure lasts about 50 minutes.
Cave Tubing Note: If you don’t want to bring a change of clothes, wear comfortable shoes and clothes dry quickly. It wouldn’t hurt to bring a change of clothes since we have showers and bathroom facilities on-site, but it won’t be much of a difference because there isn’t enough time for lengthy showers. It rinses and goes! There were no soaps or rags available to anyone. Guides may also suggest that it’d be best to zip first and then tubing last if you’d like to cool off.
