Cave Tubing and Zipline from Placencia
This exciting Cave Tubing and Zipline tour will depart from your Placencia accommodation. While on the scenic ride, you’ll meet your guides, who will then take you to Jaguar Paw in an air-conditioned vehicle. Once you get to the base, you will meet your guides, who will issue life vests and inflatable tubes. You’ll then do a quick presentation and safety briefing.
A 30-minute hike is up next, which includes:
• Wading through calming water streams.
• Trekking beneath the thick rainforest canopy on flat terrain; and
• Viewing the exotic flora and fauna that live in the area
At the entrance to our cave system, you will embark on an exhilarating tour through the mysterious Maya underworld. After being taken inside, you will be able to witness ancient stalagmites & stalactites lining our cave, which is now referred to as the cave of Xibalba. As you floating through the Cave Maya site, you will experience all the sights, sounds, and smells that the locals experienced centuries ago. (At the end, if you’re open to added adventure, ask your guide about a visit to the mini waterfall and swimming area!)
After leaving the falls, you’ll emerge into the sunlight and free float gently downstream back to where the tour started.
Then it’s on to zip-lining, where you get to enjoy a bird’s eye view of the Belizean jungle. Afterward, our guides will provide you with equipment and oversee your safety during this exhilarating journey through the treetops at high speeds. You’ll then make your way over to the first platform, where an important safety briefing will follow, covering braking technique, balancing, and cable safety.
Once you’re strapped in, it’s READY SET GO – you’ll float peacefully through the sky above the lush flora of western Belize, and a guide will be waiting for you at the next platform so you can continue along the tour.
cave tubing Note: It’s best to use comfortable shoes and clothing that will air dry quickly if you don’t want to bring along a change of clothing. If you opt to bring a change of clothes, bathroom facilities and showers are provided onsite, but it’s going to be a quick change as time doesn’t permit the leisure of a long shower. It rinses and goes! Nobody soap or rags provided. Guides may also give you the option of deciding whether you’ll want to zip first and then cool off by doing the tubing last.
